First and foremost, all AKINS Towing trucks pass a DOT level 1 certification. Secondly, we have a wide variety of equipment to meet your needs! Now here are more technical terms and information you may want to know about AKINS:
Have you ever worried as you pass a car carrier on the highway that one of the cars might come loose and end up in a heap on the road? You don’t have to worry
about that happening with AKINS Towing. We have two “Roll Back” wreckers with a tilting flatbed. This type of truck allows us to keep the towed vehicle’s wheels stationary during transport. We have 8 point nylon straps, which allow the suspension to flow freely during transport eliminating any potential for damage to your vehicle versus the more common methods used by other companies.
Have you caught your vehicle in a tight or dangerous spot? We have a light duty Class A wrecker good for maneuvering tight places like parking garages, driveways and winch out recoveries. This type of truck is equipped with dual winching cables allowing the operator to hook to multiple points on the vehicle for a more controlled recovery and pulling power when needed. It also has an extendable 8 ton boom which allows the operator to change the angle of the cables…pretty impressive strength and flexibility for retrieving your creatively parked car or truck.
We have a service truck that’s like your mom’s purse – designed for all of your Emergency Roadside Assistance needs…like Tire
Changes, Jump Starts, Lock outs and Fuel Delivery. This truck allows us to have quicker response times to your minor emergencies eliminating unnecessary wait times for a tow truck…just like mom.
Another unique feature that AKINS Towing offers is this brand new truck - a 2011 Freightliner extended cab with a dual winch side puller. It’s efficient to operate - all three winches are remote control – which means a safer, easier towing experience for you. Your benefit? This truck can do the work of two trucks and eliminates the wait time for a 2nd truck while also keeping your costs under control. This truck has air ride
suspension which allows us to let the air out and drop the bed to a 9 degree load angle, which is also safer and more efficient for your larger towing jobs.
